Waiting for Emma...

Every Monday afternoon, Ethan and I get to hang out while Emma has speech therapy... The elementary school she goes to for speech is actually the same school that Daniel went to as a child.

I thought it was kind of cool to have this picture:

He was so still for a moment. Wish I had gotten a close up, but it was so cute watching his little legs hanging over the bench like that.

If only I could write the sound I hear in my head when I see this photo... Like he's practicing his Kung Fu moves. Are you hearing the same sound?
Photobucket

There are actually more photos to go with this post, but I really have to get working on other stuff. Busy, busy, busy... I will share one bit of exciting news about what I'm up to though. Well, exciting to me. I get to go scrapbooking tomorrow night!!! Haven't done that since I was pregnant with Ethan, so about two years now. I have NO IDEA what I'll scrapbook, so I'm hoping I have things ready from the last time I went.

I feel like so much comes and goes through my mind that I want to share here... I think I need to designate a notebook just for jotting those ideas and thoughts down. I hate that I'm missing the little stuff from our daily lives.

Hope you have a great weekend if I'm not back before then. Take care!

Which one?

The one up there or this one?:

Or do I start over? It's okay to say that.

Inquiring minds want to know... I want to know. :) Thanks!

Happy Monday!

Hope to come back later today with words... Can't promise anything profound. We'll see how it goes. It is 3:30 am after all. Couldn't sleep. But must try again. The ringing starts at 6:30...

Okay my friend, you've waited long enough

My friend Carrie has been so patient, waiting for the photos of her sweet little one...

But before I share a few of those, I first have to show you what she looked like one year ago as a newborn:

And here she is as a one year old:

Beautiful, isn't she?

And this last one is for mom because she just had to have the shoes...
Photobucket
I would too. How special are these? and we well know in the blink of an eye she will be grown out of them.

Thank you my friend for letting me capture your beautiful daughter through her first year! I loved every bit of it. I just love watching how these little ones evolve and "grow" personalities too.

Enjoy!

A senior session...

...is quite different from chasing kids with a camera, isn't it?

Photobucket

Okay, she's gorgeous. And let me just tell you that her personality absolutely matches.

Photobucket

Miss "A" is graduating highschool this year and looking forward to being on her own come next fall. She will be moving out of state, and although I think she will deeply miss her friends and family, I think she will shine and make everyone proud.

Photobucket

She really wanted beach photos because the beach represents where she has lived up to this point in her life... In a few short months, she will be living in quite a different climate.

Photobucket

I wish after a session I could just come home and immediately sit down and write a blog entry, even if I don't have any pictures ready to share... I had the best time with this young lady and her parents. After this shoot, my heart was just flowing over with the love and goodness this family shared with me. It truly was a pleasure. It was very relaxing, being at the beach, enjoying the first real summer-like weekend, waiting for the sun to set lower in the sky. We had time to connect and enjoy each other. Once again I left feeling so very fortunate and blessed by my job. Thank you...

Photobucket

Best wishes to you my new friend. May God bless your path always...

Visiting "grandma's house"

On Sunday it was eleven years since my mom passed away. With every new year I am amazed that I ever got through it. Those first few years were incredibly difficult. I never thought I would get past the first few months, much less eleven years worth.

Photobucket

Emma says that we are visiting Grandma's house. Each year she puts more pieces of the puzzle together as I continue to tell her and show her who Grandma Bailey is... the "other" grandma - the one she will never see in real life. How confusing for a child. When we made the trip out on Sunday to the cemetery, I brought a picture along of my family when I was young so she could look at her grandma's picture and have a better idea of who we were visiting. She's starting to ask questions. When we stop at the flower shop that is right next to Rose Hills, I let Emma pick the flowers out for grandma. She is very thoughtful with this task and picks them out very carefully. I think this makes our visit special.

Photobucket

This is the first time Ethan has run loose while we were there. Man, that kid is trouble (and I do say that with a smile). He was too funny... My mom is at the bottom of a hill and so we have to be careful about letting him walk around where we are because if he fell he would literally fall into the gutter. :) So instead he fell everywhere else.

Photobucket
It was just too funny.. he'd keep falling and falling because of the slope. You really had to be there and I really should have taken more photos. :)

Ethan thought it was fun to sprinkle grass all over the place so here he is making our flowers even prettier.

This was the best I could do of the kids...

I so miss my mom.

Thanks for letting me share and I hope this wasn't too sad of a post. It really was a good day - very few tears and lots of smiles.

3 months old

I had one of those pick-me up sessions last Saturday that left me feeling doubly grateful for this job I have. Enjoyable people, an adorable baby, doing what I love to do... I tell you, I have the best job in the world. God continues to bless me and encourage me through all these wonderful people I am being put in contact with.

Look at this pretty little thing...

I really am holding out on you L & M... I got a few sweet smiling shots (not huge smiles, but sweet stuff nonetheless). You'll have to wait and see, but only for a couple more days.

Thanks again for letting me into your lives for a couple hours. It was truly a pleasure and I look forward to watching this pretty little girl of yours blossom and grow.

Alive and kicking!

It has been so long since my last post that I feel embarrassed to even be posting. And I've missed you! I hope you are still coming around to visit me.

The week of my last post was the week that Daniel was gone on a business trip... He was gone from Saturday to Saturday. I couldn't blog about it because that kind of scared me to openly tell everyone that I was alone with the kids for a week. But it really got me off track with my blogging, just trying to keep up with the kids that week. I also didn't take many pictures. The whole thing just threw me off. Then I got really busy, work-wise. Which of course is a good thing, but wow, I've been busy.

I just finished proofing this newborn session... I LOVE this first shot:

And here are some other faves:

He was such a good baby! Hardly fussed. Just did his little newborn thing of quietly watching and dozing off every now and then. He was precious. Thank you mom and dad for letting me into your lives that day and for sharing your little bundle of joy with me. I had a great time!

I promise to get myself back on board. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
